Week 2 – The Protoyping

Mechanical Team:

The Mechanical team continued prototyping and design work on both the intake and climber subsystems. Intake development had advanced with the system being electrically prepared for testing, including mounting a Lexan panel to prevent motor rotation and protect wiring. The climber team analyzed a single-box climber design for a Level 1 climb using the lowest possible gear ratio to allow for smooth operation.

Programming Team:

The Programming team set up a new Java project in VS Code to begin creating simple test-bed code and developed an initial. They began integrating a Neo motor with a SparkMax controller, also outlining next steps for completing dependency installation and continued exploring button bindings to commands that control motors for training and testing purposes.

Electrical Team:

The Electrical team advanced with intake prototyping by completing electrical preparation for testing. Wiring was secured, a Lexan panel was installed to protect connections and wires, and progress was made toward fully connecting the radio to the control panel.

Carpentry Team:

The Carpentry team made continued progress on field construction, advancing the build of the blue alliance hub ramp and completing painting on the red alliance hub. These efforts helped ensure practice field elements were structurally complete and  ready for use during practice times.
