Week 1 – The True Start to Build Season

Mechanical (Intake & Climber):

The Mechanical team made various prototypes for different parts of our robot, featuring a compliant wheel design capable of spinning for the intake system. The climber system was worked on with the assembly of telescope tubing, fixing alignment issues, and ensuring stability during use.

Programming:

The Programming team reviewed commands, set up a new Java environment, and worked on a move command to help the robot move sideways for training. They continued refining and perfecting control code while also fixing issues with the climber’s telescoping mechanism.

Electrical:

The Electrical team completed the electrical board setup, mounting and wiring all components, and bolted in the breaker. Motor controls were fixed, salvaged motors from the old robot were reinstalled, and the telemetry system was–and still is–being tested and improved upon.

Outreach:

The Outreach team reviewed past winning essays, worked on impact storyboards, and drafted short responses. Additionally, they helped bring together different outreach evens we have done in the past for the essays, while also researching helpful tools for their projects.

Carpentry:

The Carpentry team cut and assembled pieces for the Alliance Hubs, completed the construction of the red alliance hub, including the ramp, and painted the blue and red hubs. They also organized the shed to create more space for future wood pieces, improving their workspace.
