On June 13, 2025, local political and business leaders came to visit us in our lab in Bethpage High School. This event was organized by Optimum, one of our most generous and long-time sponsors. Optimum organized the arrival of Joseph Saladino, Supervisor of the Town of Oyster Bay (Nassau County, Long Island, NY), a representative from our New York State Senate senator, Steve Rhoads, and local business leaders from our community.
We gave a presentation to the leaders, highlighting our work as a part of FIRST robotics, with a special focus on the many life skills and lessons we have learned, and how we give back to our communities, describing how we have stood as mentors and advocates for STEM education.
Supervisor Saladino and the representative from Senator Rhoads’s office offered praise of us as role models for our communities youth and congratulated us for our various accomplishments. Both offered us certificates of recognition. Optimum yet again offered a very generous donation to help fund our work and competition expenses.
